FEBRUARY 20, 2025 UPDATE: LOCATED
LURAY, Va. — This past week, Shenandoah National Park (SNP) shared the image of a man they say has been missing for almost a month.
In a February 13 media release, SNP advised that Ranier Denina was last seen near Piney Mountain Road in Charlottesville on January 21, 2025.
Denina is an Asian male, 52 years old, 5’6”tall and 170 lbs. He has black and gray hair and brown eyes.
The media announcement indicated that Denina may be traveling in a 2014 red Subaru Crosstrek with his German Shepherd, Luna.
The announcement did not explain Denina’s connection to SNP or why officials feel he may be within or near the park. As first reported by local station WHSV-TV (in a story unrelated to Denina), SNP public information officers halted communications with members of the media in mid-January.
The photo included on Denina’s missing poster may be an older DMV photo. His personal Instagram account includes a selfie from approximately six months ago, showing off a new haircut.
His last social media photo was of a box of treats from an Ashburn pastry shop on January 12.
