STANLEY, Va. — A barn nestled on a picturesque Shenandoah Valley farm has been converted into a brewery, and will open for business this weekend.
Coal Ridge Brewery, owned and operated by Jeff and Daphne Dinges, is the result of an extensive building renovation and a love of the local area.
The couple, both lifelong residents of Page County, already own and operate organic chicken farms and the Stanley NAPA store. When it came to repurposing what was once a barn for race horses, Jeff and Daphne came up with an idea that would keep the family business local, while also offering a new benefit to the community.
“We renovated the barn for our daughter’s wedding,” said Jeff. “Then we realized we wanted to share this beautiful place as a public venue for people to enjoy craft beer, mountain views and fellowship.”
The completely restored, yet beautifully-rustic building is located at 1750 Honeyville Road and has a capacity of 200. Craft beer, brewed within the former barn, includes ales, lagers, and IPAs with locally-inspired names such as “Red Gate Road,” “Alma Ale” and “Old Stanley.”

Coal Ridge Brewery is scheduled to officially open Saturday, April 19, 2025, with a ribbon-cutting at noon. A grand opening celebration will be held until 10 p.m.
Along with frosty-cold brews and non-alcoholic beverage options, the grand opening will feature piping hot comfort foods from El Amigo Mexican Food Truck and Log Cabin BBQ. Live entertainment will be provided by the Dustin Pence Band and Josh Davidson.
Regular operating hours will be Thursday: 4-9 p.m., Friday: 4-10 p.m., Saturday: 12-10 p.m., and Sunday: 1-8 p.m. The brewery will be closed on Easter Sunday.
Plenty of parking is available on-site. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor areas of the brewery. Indoor-access permitted for service dogs only. Live music and events are already planned for upcoming weekends. Merchandise, such as logo shirts, hats and pint glasses, will be available for sale.
