Driver of second vehicle injured
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) are is investigating a Thursday morning crash that left an Elkton woman dead.
According to an emailed media release from VSP Sergeant Brent W. Coffey, the incident occurred January 23, 2025.
At 8:20 a.m., a 2006 Honda Civic was traveling east on Route 33 when it failed to stop at a red light and collided with a 2011 Ford F150, attempting a left turn onto Route 33 from Rockingham Pike. The Ford had a green light.
The driver of the Honda, Brandi R. Morris, 47, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sentara RMH Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the Ford, a 21-year-old male from Elkton, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Sentara RMH Medical Center for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
