STANLEY, Va. — The Stanley Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) successfully battled a raging vehicle fire early Wednesday morning.
According to a media statement by SVFD Lieutenant Zach Croft, the incident occurred January 22, 2025, on Riverbend Road.
After the initial call was dispatched at 6:30 a.m., firefighters arrived to find a vehicle fully involved, and approximately 20 feet from a residence.
The SVFD crew pulled a “front bumper line” to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to the residence. This type of line is a short length of hose stored on the front bumper of a fire truck, and typically used for quick access to extinguish trash or vehicle fires due to its readily-available location.
According to the written statement, three units and seven firefighters responded to the incident. The Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Company, Page County EMS and Page County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
