ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that killed an Elkton man on Monday.
According to a media release from VSP Public Relations Coordinator Matthew Demlein, the incident occurred July 14, 2025.
At approximately 2:35 p.m., a Chevrolet Cobalt was travelling southbound on Fox Mountain Road, and a Chevrolet flatbed truck was heading northbound. The two vehicles struck head-on.
The driver of the Cobalt, Dylan Michael Hartman, 22, died at the scene.
Two passengers in the Cobalt suffered serious injuries and were transported to UVA Medical Center.
The driver of the flatbed also suffered injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
Friends of Hartman have organized a GoFundMe to help his family with funeral expenses.
