Community Invited to Celebrate Career of Retiring Police Chief on Wednesday

Stanley Police Chief Ryan “Beaver” Dean

STANLEY, Va. — The Stanley Police Department is inviting community members to stop by the Winum Building [Stanley Police Department HQ] on Wednesday, February 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to offer well-wishes to Police Chief Ryan “Beaver” Dean.

Dean will make his final call to Page County Dispatch on Thursday, February 26, marking himself off duty after more than 30 years in law enforcement, including more than 25 years of service to the town of Stanley.

A social media statement from the Stanley Police Department reads:

Let’s send Chief Dean into retirement the Stanley way — surrounded by the people and community he has faithfully served for more than 30 years.

If you know him professionally, give him a handshake.

If you know him as a friend, give him a hug.

If you know him as “Beaver,” give him a hard time.

We hope to see you Wednesday!
