PAGE COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a crash that killed a local woman on Wednesday.
According to VSP, the incident occurred on Oct. 15, 2025, along U.S. Route 340.
At 12:41 a.m., a 2013 Volkswagen Passat traveling southbound near the intersection with Newport Road, crossed the centerline and struck a 2012 Hyundai Elantra head-on.
The driver of the Elantra, Cassie N. Hutton, 28, of Luray, died at the scene. Police said she was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the Passat, Clarissa C. Sosa, 19, of Stanley, suffered serious injuries and was transported for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt, according to authorities.
Charges are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.
