LURAY, Va. — On February 19, 2025, the Luray Fire Department (LFD) successfully managed two separate fire incidents in very short order.
First, crews were dispatched to the 1200 block of US HWY 340 North for a reported structure fire.
LFD Engine 12, Engine 9, Tanker 1, Tanker 8, Command 1, and twenty members responded to the scene, where they discovered an outbuilding fully-involved and threatening another structure.

Crews quickly suppressed the fire and remained on scene for an hour to cool “hot spots” before returning to the station.
Almost immediately, the LFD was was dispatched to the 1800 block of Redman Store Road for a vehicle fire.
Engine 12, Tanker 1, Command 1, and 10 personnel responded, and discovered a vehicle in the roadway with fire showing from the engine and passenger compartment.
Crews quickly advanced an attack line and suppressed the fire. Crews remained on scene cooling the vehicle for approximately 45 minutes.
Page County EMS, the Page County Sheriff’s Office, and the Luray Police Department assisted LFD with the calls. No injuries were reported.
